about
me
I was born in 1986 and brought up in Cliviger on the outskirts of Burnley. I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a farrier.
I began my apprenticeship in 2006 alongside Graham in the Harland Farriers practice and passed my farriery final examinations in January 2010 when i was awarded the Diploma of the Worshipful Company of Farriers (Dip WCF).
I have plans to take a Foundation degree with a merit in Farrier Science.
I am a member of the National Association of Farriers, Blacksmiths and Agricultural Engineers (NAFBAE).
I have worked with a number of vets throughout my apprenticeship and look forward to working with many more to help prolong the sound life of all equines.
I have taken part in many shoe making competitions all over England and Scotland and most recently came 2nd in the YFEDA Bar Shoemaking and Team Competition.
I also enjoy passing on my knowledge to horse owners and i am willing to come to your yard and carry out a lecture demonstration with a dissection of the horses digit covering any injuries or lameness’s including laminitis and navicular. I can go into as much depth as the audience want. All i ask of you is to choose a charity and take donations.
